(1) Title : Johar Ka Itihas Evam Vanshavali (History & Genealogy of Johar)
Author : Babu Ram Singh Pangtey
Publisher : Seemant Sanskritik Sangthan, New Delhi.
Publication Date : April 1980

Brief Info: This book was wriiten by Babu Ram Singh Pangtey a.k.a. ‘Johar Kinkar’, who was the first Johari after Pundit Nain Singh Rawat who realized the need and significance of penning down the history of Johar. He has tried to describe the history of Johar region from the early times to the beginning of the 20th century. The social, cultural, and economic life of the Shaukas is also well discussed in this literary work!



 (2) Title : Aatam Kahani (Autobiography)
Author : Babu Ram Singh Pangtey
Publisher : Johar Sanskritik Sangthan, Lucknow.
Publication Date : May 1984

Brief Info: This book was wriiten by Babu Ram Singh Pangtey a.k.a. ‘Johar Kinkar’, who was the first Johari after Pundit Nain Singh Rawat who realized the need and significance of penning down the history of Johar. This literary work not only illustrates the life of Shri Babu Ram Singh Pangtey, but also describes the important events in Johar region during that phase of time, and his significant works in the field of social reforms and welfare!



(3) Title : Itihas Rawat Kaum (History of Rawat Community)
Author : Pundit Nain Singh Rawat
Publisher : Johar Sanskritik Sangthan, Lucknow.
Publication Date : October 1990

Brief Info: This book was written by Pundit Nain Singh Rawat (C.I.E.), who was the first Johari to realize the need and significance of penning down the history of Johar. This is an historical account of the history of the Rawat community, a sub-group within the larger Shauka people of the Johar valley.


(4) Title : Akshansh Darpan (Mirror of Latitudes)
Author : Pundit Nain Singh Rawat

Publication Date : June 1992

Brief Info: This book was written by Pundit Nain Singh Rawat (C.I.E.), who was the first Johari to realize the need and significance of penning down the history of Johar. Nain Singh has put all his scientific and technical information about his experiments and the experiences of the explorations during the Great Trigonometrical Survey (1865-75) in writing in the form of this book. It worked as a good manual / guide for the later generations of explorers!


(5) Title : Johar Ghaati Ke Rawat (Rawats of Johar Valley)
Author : Khushal Singh Rawat, Kanpur.

Brief Info: This book is written by Shri Khushal Singh Rawat. It presents the thoughts and research of the author on the history of the Rawat community of the Johar valley (Pithoragarh).


(6) Title : Johar Ghaati Ke Etihasik Sandarbhon Ka Kaal Nirdharan (Chronology of the Historical Sources of Johar Valley)
Author : Surendra Singh Pangtey

Brief Info: This book is written by Shri Surendra Singh Pangtey (Former I.A.S.). In this book, the author has given the objective and detailed analysis of the chronology of the historical events and incidents occurred in the history of Johar valley from the ancient period to the present time!

पिछली पोस्ट में मैंने अपनी मुनस्यारी यात्रा के कुछ छायाचित्र प्रस्तुत किए थे !  आज देखिए डॉ पांगती के निजी प्रयासों से बने हेरिटेज म्यूजियम की कुछ तस्वीरें ! डॉ पांगती मुनसियारी के मूल निवासी हैं जिन्होंने वहीं रहकर जोहर घाटी और भोटिया जनजाति पर अपना पी.ऎच.डी का काम पूरा किया ! वे करीब एक दशक पहले मुनस्यारी के इंटरकॉलेज से रिटायर हुए हैं और आजकल दिल्ली में रहने वाले अपने बेटे के द्वारा लाए गए लैपटॉप पर वे लोकभाषा पर काम कर रहे हैं ! .............
